Course Descriptions:

CAMP FX:
 Sorry! Camp FX is fully booked. 

This course is ONE week only and limited space is available!! (Slots will fill up fast – so sign up today!) Florida Film Academy will be partnering with the amazing Stefan Price owner of Round Table Productions. His company specializes in special effects and prop making for theme parks, films, commercials and so much more. Students will tour his facility in Winter Garden and will be taught how to re-create a special effect.

Students will then learn how to script, film, edit and be challenged to incorporate these special effects into their film! No experience necessary!! Students walk away with a DVD copy of their film. Parents – please join us for our family premier party Friday!

Camp Price: $200 half day / $300 full day

Camp Date: June 17- June 21 

Camp Time: 9am-1pm or 9am-5pm  Monday – Friday 

 


 

Acting for the Camera/ Acting for the Stage:
 Sorry!  This camp is fully booked. 

A partnership camp between Florida Film Academy and the Garden Theatre.

This course is a great option for students involved in theatre but want to learn how to translate their craft to film.  Students will spend the first half of their day at the FFA facility working on duet scenes and learning new acting techniques for the camera.

Then students will spend the second half of their day at the Garden Theatre experiencing the world of stage acting through games and story telling. Students will then work on stage scenes and will learn styles unique to stage vs. film.

During this session students will be asked to be dropped off at the FFA Facility at 9am and picked up at the Garden Theatre at 4pm. (Please note that the Garden theatre is also on Plant Street, just 2 buildings down from FFA, and the students will be escorted by FFA or Garden Theatre staff members)

Course taught by Karen Rugerio and Cindy Kennaugh.

Camp Price:

Half day at Florida Film Academy from 9am-1pm = $200

Half day at Garden Theatre from 1pm-4pm = $200

Full day at FFA & Garden Theatre 9am-4pm = $275

Make a Movie with the Garden Theatre
 Sorry! This camp is fully booked. 

A partnership camp between Florida Film Academy and the Garden Theatre.

Students will spend the first half of their day at the FFA facility working on the behind-the-scenes technical elements used in making a film –camera work, directing, filming and editing.

Then students will spend the second half of their day at the Garden Theatre learning story development and acting for the camera.  The entire experience culminates in a film screening of the students’ final movie project.  Each student leaves the camp with a copy of their self-produced short film.

No prior experience necessary. During this session students will be asked to be dropped off at the FFA Facility and picked up at the Garden Theatre. (Please note that the two buildings are on Plant Street, just 2 buildings apart, and FFA or Garden Theatre staff members will escort the students)

Themed Make A Movie Camps!

FFA hosts a one of a kind film camp where YOU create an original 5-minute short. Students learn how to use consumer cameras, write original scripts, act, direct, film and edit.  No experience necessary!!

Students walk away with a DVD copy of their film. Parents – please join us for our family premier party every Friday!

ALL AMERICAN!

This session is an “All American!” theme featuring the old west!
We are partnering up with Spirit Horse At Better Times Farm – an amazing organization that not only rescues horses from abused conditions but also helps children with therapy! We will be touring their petting farm, saddling up some horses and filming with the back drop of a good old fashion ranch! This is a week you do not want to miss!

Camp Dates: July 1-3, 2013

Camp Cost: $180 for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 9am-5pm

 

WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?

The week of July 29th- August 2nd is “who do you want to be?” where we are bringing in a theatrical make up artist to educate the students on theatrical and movie make up — this is a great opportunity to reveal the “character within” whether it’s sci-fi, zombies or fantasy!

MOVIE MAGIC!

During our summer camps students learn how to develop stories, edit, learn various film techniques, cast one another in their films, act in front of the camera and we end each week with a family premiere party where we showcase the students films. But we have topped off this week with a special theme! Students will be learning different movie and film “secrets” and will be challenged to apply them to their film!

Camp Dates:  June 10 -14

Camp Price: $200 half day / $300 full day

Camp Time: 9am-1pm or 9am-5pm Monday – Friday 

 

STUNT WEEK!

During this session students will learn how to choreograph special stunt sequences from local martial arts experts and will learn how to film these sequences and apply them to their films!

What makes all of our courses so unique is our permissions to use the City of Winter Garden as your filming backdrop. Winter Garden is one of Orlando’s top locations for professional filming!

 

Our location is easily accessible via the Florida Turnpike, Colonial, 408 and the 429.
