Kids will learn all about what it takes to create great gaming videos and film, edit and manage their own YouTube channel.

There will be a showcase in May where you can checkout your child’s creations!

6.30pm Coding/Capture the Flag/Cyber Security/Hacking for Good

Ages 11+

Step into our world and start (good) hacking. Defend your servers, and launch attacks on others, all using the exact same techniques that work in the real world.

Kids will learn CyberSecurity, internet safety and hacking for good. Kids and teens will gain mastery of ethical hacking and will learn how to use their skills for good and to make the world better.

5.30pm Advanced Stop Motion

Build your backdrops, introduce your characters and bring your stop motion film to life!

Students typically bring in their own supplies for set building and characters in their films.

6.00pm Art Studio

This “master class” style experience allows students to explore different mediums each month in this project based course.

Challenges like producing “wearable art” to oil on canvas, to body paint, street art and tons of other mediums will be covered in this class. All levels welcome!

6.30pm Coding Level 1 Gifted Foundations

Ages 10+

Students will learn real-world skills while creating their own website and mobile app. Students take their coding skills up a level in this course. Fun and engaging projects to expose kids to programming concepts. Students learn about design, HTML, CSS, Javascript & how to create mobile apps.

7.30pm Teens Virtual Reality Game Design & Coding Foundations

Ages 13+

Teens learn learn storyline development, character creation, coding, design, emerging technology, virtual reality and how to run their own game studio! Teens will learn to program using an advanced game engine and will explore creating virtual reality, 2d & 3d games.

5.30pm FFA Foundations: Story Lab

Whether it’s destined for page or screen, we explore the fundamentals of story telling, both fact and fiction across a range of disciplines, including script, narrative, documentary and journalism.

5.30pm Startup Lab Coding Foundations

Ages 13+

Startup life learn the skills necessary to code a real app and bring it to life. Learn the elements needed to become an entrepreneur and run your own startup. Learn about coding, design, teamwork, entrepreneurship and how you can impact the world.

6.30pm Teen Filmmaker Ages 12 & 13 only

6.30pm FFA Foundations: Filmmaking

Students create original festival level short films as they learn the art and craft of film making.  While we cover some story development in this class, Story lab is the class for more in depth script studies, formatting etc.

6.30pm iLAB/Steam

Ages 7+

Kids will work on maker projects & emerging technology with Arduino, sensors, wearables, 3d printing, science & engineering projects & Raspberry PI. Raspberry pi is a pocket sized computer with incredible extensibility that kids can build themselves. This exciting class focuses on developing strong maker and inventor skills, and on working with inventions, robots, devices and sensors that connect to and are controlled by a computer.

6.30pm Movie Make Up & FX

In this specialty class, students learn a variety of make up techniques while using special effects make up to create their characters.

All materials and supplies are included with tuition. Thursday’s session is currently sold out, so please email your interest for our Wednesday session.

5.00pm FFA Foundations: Film Retro

This class embraces film studies, covering film language, theory and history, however, we’re adding a twist. Students will use super 8 cameras and hands on editing to apply the theory to practice.

Join us as we learn the elements of creative photography! This class is now available to our young photographers. Students work on a variety of real world projects, from producing photo books to submitting photos for newspaper articles.

*This is the only class where students are encouraged to provide their own camera whether it’s a smart phone, point and shoot or DSLR.

5.30pm Journalism X

In partnership with the West Orange Times & Observer, this class merges all aspects of modern journalism and students work to be published writers. See your work in the local paper & at www.journalismx.com

Journalism X may also include field trips to off site venues for stories & news gathering. An adventurous spirt it recommended!

6.00pm FFA Foundations: Photography Master Class

This class is deigned for serious photographers.  Students cover elements from visual storytelling to camera operations and techniques.  Students submit to competitions and exhibitions as well as producing photo journalism projects for local media.
