Working with both Florida Film Academy with breakout sessions from the Universal Studios Education teams, students will learn about story, set design and the art and craft of filmmaking. 

Students work as a team, develop their communication and presentation skills and of course use the readymade sets of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure to create their own short films.

First time Universal Students and returning Students will follow a slightly different curriculum.

Students arrive on Sunday afternoon in time for a fun ice breaker event at CityWalk.

On Monday morning, first time students will head to their first Universal workshop of the week to learn about the ‘Heroes Journey’ in storytelling while our returning students head to learn about the art and craft of location scouting.

On Tuesday everyone heads to Islands of Adventure to learn the power of detail in immersive storytelling.

Wednesday is the first full day of filmmaking, working with the FFA instructors, students will embrace what they’ve learned so far to complete a 12-hour film challenge.

Thursday takes us behind the adventure on a Universal backstage tour and on Friday there’s an optional Career Selection Workshop led by the team at Universal.

Between these workshops and tours students will have lots of opportunity to create their own short films using Universal Studios as a backdrop.
